Process Blog 07

Week 7!

From last weekend work, I started thinking about the process of my project and how it changed. This helped me outline my Mid-Quarter Crits presentation. On Monday, I presented my current process of my project and what I have so far. (You can see my presentation slides on the right side). My research question has changed and its narrowed. This was my struggle in the beginning of the quarter. Working on this project and the process showed me the importance of research, I am pleased to see that the progress of my project is changing, every time I move forward. I feel that I understand my problem more as I thought.

From my presentation feedbacks, I need to work more on defining and understanding my problem. The research I have done so far is secondary research and primary research (interviews). I interviewed my brother last weekend as he was the only one experienced war.I found this not that helpful as I knew almost everything. I got one comment from my peers that the "things I know they may not know". I found this helpful since I thought the interview was not helpful but it was! I created a survey and I was willing to post it in a Facebook group with 60,000 members to get more response, but after the presentation I am thinking not to do that. Currently, I am looking over the refugees camp websites here in Seattle and I will try to contact them. Also, I am considering a phone interview with some people back home in order to get more stories and understand the problem.

I was concerned more about the technical process, but not anymore. I need to work more on my problem in order to get good problem solution. You can see my roadmap and my next steps in the below diagram:

I was happy to have a long weekend to work on my project and have some interviews, but for some reasons (being sick and all the recent  news) I was not able to do anything, this week was not the best for me. I feel I am a little bit behind in this week process, but hopefully I will try to catch up my work later.
