Week 2

Week two of the quarter was mostly working on the poster for the IMD seniors. Starting at the beginning of the week on Tuesday, we had the reading due “Affinity Diagramming”. This reading helped us in the activity we did on class (Tuesday). Using sticky notes (as it was mentioned in the reading) to organize our ideas (creating affinity diagram) . This was interesting and helpful for our group to come forward with the idea and see what ideas are related to the other. At first, we were confused about the ideas then after creating the affinity diagram. We came up with a lot of problems. At the end of affinity diagram, we decided to change our idea to a new different one as we came up with a lot of problems. I like these kinds of activities as it helps me think more and at the same time it helps me understand the readings.

On Thursday, we had several readings due that were interesting and helpful (Empathy on the Edge, Scenarios Body-storming, Personal Inventories and Role-playing,). The “Empathy on the Edge” was the best as I feel there is plenty of helpful information’s in it. It showed how to be a good designer and how to understand the client needs and wants. Showing how design companies use the quantitative and qualitative research in their design. And how empathy is used to get the user needs . This reading was quite a bit interesting=). Other readings were also good and the discussion we did in groups was helpful too.

On Friday, during our presentation of poster we got a lot of feedbacks about our poster. From the feedback, we had to change our poster idea as we had to have something related to the event (seniors showcase). We started brainstorming the idea and designing a new poster!
